System Zoning

When some rooms in the house are uncomfortably warmer or colder than others, you need system zoning to even things out. Heat rises, so upper floors can get very warm, leaving the basement too cold. If you have vaulted ceilings, the room will not be able to retain heat very well. On the other hand, rooms that get a lot of sun will retain too much heat.

Zoning involves the installation of thermostats around your home. Via the control panel, you can adjust temperatures in each room. The thermostats will monitor the temperatures versus your settings in their respective zones. By opening and closing the dampers in the ductwork of your forced-air system, they work to even out temperatures throughout the house. If you don’t have a damper system in your ductwork, we can retrofit it.

The thermostats can also help you save energy by closing the dampers in unused rooms. You can save up to 30% on your energy bills. So even if you pay a little to get everything set up, you end up saving a lot more in the long run.
